Colors:

I chose an earthy color palette to exude the sense of a peaceful organic experience. The process of having your photo taken can be stressful and anxiety-inducing for some, so my focus is to produce an enjoyable experience from the first peek at my portfolio to the session itself. I use ambient lighting for my photos, and the use of natural tones is a nod to the overall agrestal theme.

Font:

I used Labor Union Small because of the glyph's organic curves and fluidity, which tie into the brand's inspiration from nature and minimalism.

Labor Union Small was created for the Students for Labor Action at Ithaca College to stand for social justice and the fair treatment of workers. Ethical sustainability is a core value of Hayley Jackson Photography and defines the overall brand experience.

I chose red and blue to be the focus colors to symbolize the American dream and entrepreneurialism. Bob Jackson started his family-run business in 1973, which has grown to be a staple in the Houston, Texas community. The sophisticated shade of red and alluring tone of blue evoke passion, strength, and trust. All of which are characteristics of a thriving and successful remodeling business. The addition of natural tones rounds out the palette with a soothing touch and a nod to the company’s use of sustainable and green building materials.

Font:

I used Mona Lisa Solid for a hint of nostalgia and an eye-catching introduction to the brand's founder. Big Clason Medium is used as a compliment to Mona Lisa Solid's rounded edges. Together they are easy to read and engage the viewer.
